Finding Peace in Anxious Times
By Ps. Johan Bekker

Few of us escape seasons of worry. Whether it is finances, relationships, health, or an uncertain future, anxiety can quietly take over our thoughts and rob us of rest. The good news is that God does not ask us to pretend we are fine — He invites us to bring our worries honestly to Him.
Cast your cares
Peter writes, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). Casting our cares is an active, repeated choice. It means naming what troubles us and deliberately handing it to a Father who is both able and willing to carry it.
Practical steps for an anxious heart
- Begin with honest prayer — tell God exactly what you feel.
- Replace racing thoughts with a verse you can return to throughout the day.
- Give thanks for one specific thing, even in the middle of difficulty.
- Reach out — anxiety grows in isolation and shrinks in community.
Peace is not the absence of problems but the presence of God in the middle of them. As we keep turning to Him, the same God who calmed the storm draws near to calm our hearts.
