Equipped to Serve: Stepping into Ministry
By MyFiladelfia Faculty

Ministry can sound like something reserved for pastors and professionals. In reality, every follower of Jesus is called and gifted to serve. The question is not whether you have a ministry, but where and how God is inviting you to use what he has given you.
God equips those he calls
Scripture is full of unlikely people whom God used powerfully — shepherds, fishermen, and ordinary believers. He does not call the equipped so much as he equips the called. Your story, your compassion, and your availability are tools in his hands.
Finding your place to serve
- Notice the needs that stir your heart.
- Pay attention to how others say you encourage or help them.
- Start small and local — faithfulness in little things opens larger doors.
- Seek training and mentoring so your zeal is matched by wisdom.
Stepping into ministry is rarely about a dramatic moment; it is usually a series of small "yeses" to God. As you say yes, you will discover the deep joy of being used to point others to Christ.
